Ferrovia do Frango em SC
começa em maio deste ano
A Ferrovia do Frango, que liga o Oeste de Santa Catarina ao Porto de Itajaí, vai sair do papel. No dia 6 de
maio, o governo vai lançar o edital para contratação
do projeto da ferrovia. A execução da obra terá um
prazo de oito meses para ser concluída.
A decisão foi tomada na manhã desta quinta-feira, 25,
em Brasília, em uma reunião entre o governador do
Estado, Raimundo Colombo, e o diretor-presidente da
Valec Engenharia, Construções e Ferrovias S.A., Josias
Cavalcanti Júnior. “Essa é uma obra urgente, estratégica e importante para o desenvolvimento de Santa
Catarina. Somos o maior produtor de suínos, um dos
maiores de aves do Brasil, com exportações para o
mundo todo e, por isso, uma boa infraestrutura nos
dará mais competitividade”, explicou o governador.
Atualmente, Santa Catarina exporta cerca de 2 bilhões
de dólares somente no setor de avicultura.
O projeto vai definir o traçado, o custo e o modelo
de contratação, que ficará em aberto. Existe a possibilidade de ser executado pelo Estado, pela União
ou também poderá ser uma Parceria Público-Privada
(PPP). A ideia é aproveitar a estrutura do Batalhão
Ferroviário, instalado em Santa Catarina, que tem
condições de executar a obra. “Podemos imaginar 5
mil veículos a menos nas nossas rodovias do Oeste ao
Litoral com a consolidação dessa ferrovia”, comentou
o secretário da Infraestrutura de Santa Catarina, Valdir
Cobalchini.
